AoM retold seems popular, time for RoN: RoL remake?

Everyone seems super hype about Age of Mythology Retold (I know I am) and it makes me miss another of my main games from back in the days - Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends. Why do we not have a remaster/remake of this yet?

It's a game you can't get digitally and it was such an amazing concept. Is there a reason this isn't being made? Are the devs gone, or do they not own the rights anymore, etc.?

I would much prefer Rise of Nations get the Definitive Edition treatment that AoE got, and Rise of Legends get the Extended Edition treatment that RoN got. RoL is fun, but it doesn't have the advancing through the ages concept going for it.
