Maybe possible to change some parameters of RoN quick battles.

I have often been playing and been winning and trying to take over the whole map. However in doing so, will pick up wonders when capturing cities. This will bring the game to an end with a 'wonder victory'.

I could reduce the wonder at the captured city, but might want to keep it. E.g. If it's the Eiffel tower I might be needing the oil, etc.

Also I have lost plenty of games over the years, due to the enemy AI getting a wonder victory.

However I think I found a way to edit the wonder points needed for a win. At default it's set to eight wonder points. There is a file where that appears to be editable.

C:\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Games\Rise of Nations\autostart.ini

There is a line which says:
wonderwins=8 Wonder Points

While I have not tested this out yet. I think altering this will change the wonder points required for a wonder win. There is also a line which sets the parameters of population limit. Another which sets territory percentage for a win, which by default is 70%.

By changing these parameters, it should be possible to play on past the default parameters. In other words, rather than the game ending e.g. to a territory win. We should be able to play on until a conquest.

You're right.

You're post prompted me to go looking for where to change 'wonder victory points' etc. However I had looked many times before, and those settings were greyed out, and I thought they were unalterable. On looking again thought I noticed that the settings were fixed if the game was in standard mode. Whereas Standard mode can be altered, and I tried 'custom', which allowed changing game settings.

I have been wanting to change the game settings for years. E.g. playing AI, sometimes even if I build a few wonders, I will get pinned down and can't advance across the map. Meaning other AI teams can score a wonder win, and there's nothing I can do.

Many thanks. Though to be totally honest I will not likely play much more of RoN. I have played about 735 hours and know I should not be playing more, when there are other games. Will still likely come back to RoN from time to time though.

I'm surprised you never found it before! But now you know for the times you do come back (Y)

A lot of people like to play multiplayer with nomad and "very slow and expensive" tech, though the AI is very bad on those settings so it's not so good for singleplayer or coop vs AI.
