Cant conect to online servers?

Same crap here. Why did Steam have to eliminate the direct play option? Then I wouldn't have to rely on their stupid server!!!!

Same crap is going on for me and my friend we want to play online together but it wont lets us on multiplayer

HOW TO PLAY ONLINE!?
1. go to your library
2. right click rise of nations
3. properties
4. go to betas
5. select 1.1 old (says 2014)
6. let it download/upload untill 100%
7. open rise of nations after game is completed download
8. click multiplayer
9. When Hosting a game wtih friends creator/host must click on invite friend top right corner (At least for local/area network)

well, everyone in my group did what redandruthless suggested, it did let us on the server but would not let join eachother

we played on the same wifi but we clicked on invite friends on the upper right corner when we where in the setup screen and we where able to join eachother

that's the different then you werent using the server you were basically lan

¿??????? multiplayer doesn't work. All improvements they've made seem total BS if you can't play with friends. I'm really sorry, I'll look into a cracked version that has lan play

Still broken. They need to make direct IP and LAN an option for situations like this.
