List of game breaking bugs I've encountered so far and how to fix them.

I really want to love this game but the amount of bugs and glitches I've ran into is way too much for a game that's considered finished.

1. Buying or picking up a modified "Shambler" shotgun will some time freeze the game. This happened to me in both Metro 2033 and Last Light Redux. The best way to fix this issue is to Alt-tab back to desktop and simply wait a few minutes before going back into the game. The game will un-freeze itself for some reason. Better than restarting from last check point because it will freeze again anyway.

2. In Last Light Redux, placing down claymores during the boss fight in the Catacomb will freeze the game instantly, using grenade or fire bomb will some time trigger the freeze as well. Simply run and gun and don't throw anything in this fight.

3. In Last Light Redux, when fighting the giant black bear boss, if you shoot the bear with the anti-material rifle before it enter the actual fighting area will trigger a bug when you get stuck in the ground and must restart from last checkpoint. Simply don't attack it for the first 30 seconds and let it run around a bit before shooting him if you decided to use the anti-material rifle for the fight.

4. In Last light Redux, during "The last battle" at D6, if you get killed by the heavy flame thrower guy with the shield formation team, your game will instantly close without any error messages, restarting from last check point does not fix the issue as the game will still quit on it's own. You must go to "Chapter" at the main menu and choose the mission D6 to start over again. This sucks because you won't get some achievements after beating the game with this way.

5. In both 2033 and last light, while you're burning cobweb with the lighter with weapon ready in your right hand. If you switch weapon or reload at the right moment, your hand gets stuck during the animation and can't use weapon, journal and lighter anymore. You must restart from the last checkpoint.

6. In 2033 while on the surface in some level, if you get pick up by a flying demon whilst twisting in a new air filter, the game will skip frames until you alt-tab to the desktop and back.


What's really sad is I've encountered some of these bugs in he original games, I am just disappointed they still exist in the Redux version.

These are just some of the many issues in these games. They are great games so it is sad they are in such sad shape. Enemies freeze, textures flicker everywhere, NPCs lose their path making a restart necessary, enemy ragdolls freeze in place or glitch out, etc.

Ever run into: Game won't save. It will during gameplay but if you exit and return no progress has been saved.

i had #1 too and it was super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying! Also considering that the Shambler is a pretty good gun too.

Have they fixed the frozen enemies game breaker yet?If not why not?It seems i have no choice but to try before buying,I see plenty of this bug,but nothing from the devs about it being fixed,I dont want to keep reloding the same chapter,to advance through any game especialy one this old.

I never have had any issue with stuck AI, afaik it isn't exactly a common issue and can easily be remedied by reloading the chapter. The aren't on these forums because they don't speak english.... steam had a refund option.

I'm sure they speak enough English to communicate. Just because they are based in Russia doesn't mean anything. One of the devs or at least a representative of them created a pinned topic similar to this one and never replies.
