I just saw news that old PhysX titles aren't supported on the RTS 5X series cards

Does anyone know if the same holds for Metro Last Light Redux? I want to know if it would be preferable to play it now on my obsolete rig which can't quite max it at 1080p and retain steady 60fps, rather than wait till I get a new RTX 5x build in the future which may run it perfectly in 4k at 200fps ... but not be able to enable the PhysX effects...

EDIT: I was given to understand the Reduxes are 64 bit games, which means they should not have the issue.

could this be the reason i can´t run my game anymore? i crashes every time i launch the game. i can actuallzý get thru the manu but it will not launch the mission but crash instead. Anyone heard about some workaround ?

Some implementations of physX are playable without offloading from the CPU, but more impressive ones need the GPU. I think you can still use an older card as a dedicated physX card. 750 Ti or better will do the trick. Not worth it IMO, but neither is 50-series. This is currently the only method, but that could change in the future. Well, at least I think it would work, but I've not seen any test of this working with 50-series card as the main GPU.

Just to update you all iin case you are experiencing the same and wonder why.
I can launch the LL game but get a warning the game failed to start previously and will run in safe mode. (Actually it asks whether i want to open in safe mode). i get smaller screen then with opening screens but can get back to max resolution though. onlz after choosing the level or continuing the game in my case, the game starts to load but will never get pass the loading screen and simply crash, closing the game.
in the list of games in above link i have also noted Metro 2033 which i also have and this is playable, although also runs on PhysX. I also get warning to open in safe mode, also it opens ion smaller resolution but as in LL i can choose better resolution and still play. I find it strange.
Also i have tried to change GPU/CPU priority but with no effect.

Again, once there is an update on this anyone knows about or a workaround, i will be glad for sharing.

Also, but not sure it's connected to this issue but started at same time, when i launch old Duke Nukem game, the sound will not be loaded and it runs on mute. As i said, i am not usre this is connected though.

Metro 2033 Redux & Last Light Redux are both 64-bit. They aren't affected by this.
