Throwing Knives

I'm having some problems with aiming the throwing knives in Ranger mode without a crosshair, i have seen a screen shot of a guy who was able to hold down the C key and have the knife in his hand and not throw it untill he lets the key go so he can use the handle of the knife to aim but it seems not to work for me does this work for anyone else?.

Also i seen a screen shot of a guy with his melee knife out and in his hand i can't seem to work out how that is done as well.

Get a laser sight attachment, aim it at the enemy, throw.

Or you can do it the discount method.
Aim at the opponent with whatever weapon you have, then throw the knife.

Aim down your sight an put a piece of clear tape over you reticule, then with a red marker place a dot in the center. Instant red dot!

Why at times can I not use my knives? I have wondered about this in all my years playing this game.

Hold down Tab to change secondary weapon.
If you're on hardcore you won't have the UI pop up for some reason, but it's still there.
If you hold M long enough so you can see your ammo and secondary weapons (knife, dynamite, etc) then you can see where your desired weapon is.

TLDR
Hold TAB then move your mouse up and your knife should be available.
Note that knives are spent once thrown and has to be picked up again otherwise you'll end up with no ammo = No knives to throw.
