Play style differences

If I want the redux edition to be as close to the original game as possible what playstyle would I pick? I'm guessing it's survival mode for 2033 but which one is the original for Last Light?

wow! Very logical. I play on Spartan, but that doesn't mean i am a CoD fanbox -_- I just liked the combat in Metro LL and for the last light redux spartan is the original.

M2033 is close to Suvival style - less ammo and longer reload of a weapon. M:LL is a Spartan style game: much more ammo and faster speed of gameplay.

I just finished 2033 Redux playing in survival.
I'm not sure what to do with Last Light. The game was DESIGNED for spartan gameplay, if I select Survival am I making things hard on myself, Will it be harder to play than 2033 was in Survival?

Nah, I always use survivor mode. The original LL was pretty bad in terms of AI and difficulty. Redux is well balanced and survival mode makes LL not a snorefest of the easiest sneaking ever.

Survival makes LL what it should have always been, they transposed much of the original 2033 ruleset on LLRS. Sure the original had faster reloading for somewhat justified reasons, but screw it. Survival feels better all around and using it on LL feels right, the ammo drops are still minimal (though still too much IMO). Survival or bust

The intended experience for both is survival, even the description says it, I replayed a chapter on spartan to see how it's like, and I really appreciated more the immersion and realism of ranger hardcore, which you can also play without stealth, and gun everyone, been one or two shot, and take care of your ammo is part of the immersion, and it is nice to have that being in most games they can empty a clip on you and survive, and shoot like rambo

However i'm also still confused which one to choose. I just finished 2033 for the first time and it was fun, so i'm inclined to still pick survival.... but I also want to play Last Light the way it was originally intended to be played..

Just personal preference mate, you could try a chapter or something of both to feel the difference
