I'd really like to know from the developers what happened between 2014 and 2016. How can the a.i change its stage times from around 03:00:00 to 02:44:00 in the Corsica rally? It's ridiculous!
I'm sure many people wouldn't even sneeze at this game since it's just a hastily made mobile port, but I wanted to give it a chance it deserved. Right now however, I'm just about ready to delete it from my library.
After some googling, I found out there is a program which can help you stop and resume time. I do believe that's called cheating, but if the developers decide not to do anything, its the only way of unlocking the achievement without using Steam Achievement Manager.
According to encore the a.i gains further lead after halfway through the track. Ironically, that's when the roads get less windy, at least when looking at stage 1.
I think I'm done with this game. Will delete it now and get back to Dirt 2 and Blur - those are some proper racing games lol. Though I admit I miss the old school rally games. This game gave me a small hint of that nostalgia but then it went down the drain.
Yes, and before 2016 this wasn't a problem. Just look at Youtube videos from 2014. The a.i was definitely beatable back then, you just had to drive using skill. Now, it has nothing to do with skill if it comes down to horse power where the a.i is simply faster than you lol.
Yes, definitely buy Dirt 1! I have around 200 hours clocked for that sweetheart on my xbox - I used to play it for hours on end back at high school. Those were the times.
My strategy was to beat Greece 1 and Australia 1, but come second in Corsica 1. This worked!
I've finished the Rally Series with 26 points (out of 30) and I got Lancia Stratos!
Although I didn't come first, I got the car that can get me the first place!
Here are some screenshots, that show my progress.

P.S. I changed the resolution and it felt like the car started to turn better and a bit faster, maybe I am just making stuff up here, test for yourself.
P.S.S. I drove a Subaru Impreza, the fastest out of the 3 first cars in my opinion. The least damage the better (obviously), I had the car in bad shape and the engine was working worse (made me lose speed in the 90 degree corners and hairpins),
It turned out to be possible, I can only wish you good luck and hope that you can do it!
Good luck!
Will definitely update with the situation as I try again.
I did put it on 800x600, cause why the f not.. In the end Corsica became way easier. Some stages were on par but some stages were far easier. I finished Mixed Rally B in Corisa with 16 seconds ahead. If I remember correctly.
Time for me to finish this game. Started a year ago, then removed the achievements with Sam. Now I am playing again. Thank God there is Cloud Save so I could continue my savegame from a year ago. However, the achievements didn't pop up so I had to use SAM again to gain them. Now I can finally go Mixed Rally C and Expert Rally, thus complething the game for good!
TLDR: Set game to 800x600 and Corsica become way easier!
Edit: I think it's either more fps means better physics, or the game plays better on 4:3 because the roads appear to be wider, etc.
