Best controls?

I just installed this game and find it difficult to control with my Xbox gamepad. So what do you think is the best/easiest way to control the cars?. I have played other cargames, with my gamepad, that is much easier to control. Thx in advance :)

For races, keyboard, cars are very frickle but you need the possibility to do quick direction changes and quick turn adjustments. For time trials, wheel is more accurate, but you can try using pad for both. But I recommend using rvgl, it has a bit more customisation for deadzones etc I think.
