It does make sense, they're just big video files in a low resolution made when CDs were fairly new and sensitive. The software usually orders it to skip if it can't instantly find the next file chunk since all of the videos and sound were usually one file in these kinds of games.
Anyone have any fixes?
Edit:
After messing about with it for a bit, I found a solution that fixes this for me. In game, press ALT + ENTER to exit full screen mode. In windowed mode, cut scenes play as they should do. Next step is to try and work out how to maximise the window without going fullscreen.
The cutscen probl worked after dooing this. but anyone know if is possible to increase the window at all?
edit the dosbox conf under the "windowed" parameter you should be able to set a resolution. Should be able to set one for fullscreen too.
Edit: i found that, if you change output from overlay to opengl or openglnb in dosbox_harvester.conifg, then you fix freeze FMV issue. But graphics is more pixelated or more blurry depends of options.

It should work ok then.
Changed "output=" value from "overlay" to "opengl".
Now videos don't have the statter (well, like half a second sometimes), and they run straight away nicely as they should.
I did also change "fulldouble=" to "true" as I remember reading somewhere, it might improve the quality a bit. Not sure tho, and doubt this effects the video issue.
For video skipping, I installed jack7277 made patch (which disables video skipping from mouse clicks), seems to work nicely also, thank you.

This is without straight install. No patches or anything.
I am however using DDRAW for rendering. But I doubt it will matter for whatever renderer your wanting to use.
