I did the same thing bro, and now I am stuck as well. Did you manage to figure it out?

Edit: I just looked at some of the cheats for this game, and you can type SON OF SAM during gameplay to get all items in your inventoy. Kinda spoils a fair amount of the gameplay I'd imagine, but it's probably better than starting over.

Have any other solutions?

Okay, I figured it out and I feel pretty dumb. Don't worry about the cheats, all you need to do is walk right into Johnson's garage and take the dolly. You can walk back out and to your house, and he won't notice.

I just restarted the game multiple times and I'm now in the lodge. I figured out I could enter through the open garage later on too.
