Nexus Mods. Have to pay premium to download the mods?
I have been able to download some of the mods but the better ones take me to a login page in which I have to purchase a package to login. Why is this? I saw other people saying on this threads how great the mods are and I highly doubt everyone payed membership to the mod site...

Nexus is free, at least with all of Skyrims anyway

You only have to buy a membership if you try to download from premium servers

Just don't click any of the payment options when you register then you don't have to pay just carry on the registration process and crete an account

First one I tried to download it told me error. Thought I had to pay too. But then tried a different mod and downloaded without issue. So probably the file you are trying to download is still uploading to the free server and you'll have to check back later, unless you want to pay for dibs.

Well i tried multiple free servers and they all took me to the error page asking for login...

Large mods require a login.
Small ones do not.
Registration is free, downloads are free.

Premium membership adds extra features to site usage.

Nexus really needs to figure out another way because this question is asked so many times, it's obvious a lot of people have a hard time with registering to the site and not knowing it's 100% free.

Thats the plan. they need to make money to thats why it is like this.

Some people automatically assume a dastardly conspiracy when they click the nice big "signup / extra features" button instead of the download button.
It's absolutely impossible that they are Doing It Wrong™.

That the people running the Nexus site have a desire to NOT do it all for free (and therefore "suggest" you pay them) is not evil, IMO. Some gamers' sense of entitlement knows no boundaries.

I didn't even register with Nexus and I downloaded the mods I wanted no problem.
