With that being said, I just got done downloading a bunch of mods (also the new patch from Egosoft). And I just started playing it again. I only played a little before, but stopped because I did not want all the bugs and bad design to ruin my perception of it.
I am having fun so far. Glad I decided to wait a few days. And no, it is not a great game yet. Just better. I am looking forward to what the modders can do, given more time.
As soon as I played X:Rebirth I knew it was going to get bad to average reviews.
They needed to hire you as a motivational speaker SGT! This said, perhaps we should be having them do 10 push ups for every day they've spent working on this POS.
365 x 7 x 10 = 25,550
Yeah, sounds like a fair punishment.
I added this to the summary, but didn't incorporate it into the score since they promised a proper review soon.
They needed someone who was in charge of putting it all together and making a system that worked while sticking to their formula which was successful.
Just seemed like they really wanted to make big stations and lots of ships going around doing stuff.. and that is all they wanted to do. Like we'd all just fly around in awe of the universe they created.
I've never figured this out either. Gamers ask for features to be put into games. The devs completely ignore them and release a badly coded mess that gets poor reviews and is deemed borderline laughable by some in the indusrty, and then the devs pat themselves on the back and make posts in the forums of how pleased they are with the success of the game, even though there's a virtual lynch mob forming on the forums...
Modern developers are either very good at deluding themselves, or they're so caught up with their own self importance that they think they can do no wrong...
I would say it's a combination of group think, subordinates wanting to keep their jobs (so they don't disagree with bosses; which means there is a trust issue at work), and trouble admitting that you've spend the last 7 years of your life on a failure.

I knew before it would be designed for mainstream.
I can live with the bad design and i would play it IF i could play it...
I am an X-Series Veteran and not great disappointed because i did my research before i bought it and knew what i would get.
But in fact i got a Betaversion with a huge ammout of bugs and non working "features" make it impossible to play. I have a high rig and baaaaad framerates like all others with high rigs - thats another point i can`t play this "release".
