They don't need any missiles aboard.
I'd recommend to get better staff.
Captain with 5* combat and leadership, and Defence Officer with 5* combat and leadership.
Someone on the official forums confirmed that usage of missiles indeed depends on the combat skills.
And leadership skill improves all other skills by a small bit.
Morale skill = when ship is damaged, the skills will drop. The higher the morale skill, the lower the penalty.
Navigation skill improves steering rates of ships, and also seems to decrease the pause between pauses. Iam not sure, but watching my 5* captain jumping around universe like mad, and then seeing that lazy teladi with 1* navigation is enough for me to know the difference.
But personally I indeed find the Balors useless. They are weak, very weak.
arawn missile supply from game save
ammunition>
<available>
<item macro="missile_turret_dumbfire_macro" amount="659"/>
<item macro="missile_turret_swarm_macro" amount="180"/>
</available>
Now I know that equipping missile launchers on ships is useless, and so is the Balor, since missile launcher is it's only competitive weapon.
Got to check out sometime.
I use this Ship now as VIP Transport for myself,its perfect for that.
