So, Targeting Hotkeys.....
Alright, - I see EGO has added some basic targeting functionality somewhere in the last few patches.

That's great. keyboard bindable only, but nothing CH Control Manager can't solve.

But I can't target station objects, like dock points once I've used a hotkey inside a given sector.

So if I lock a target, I can only target other ships, and scroll through all ships in the sector with next/previous target.

I can't work out how to 'cancel' targeting so I can see info and interaction menus on trade nodes and dock points.

I guess I can click on them with the mouse, but really. Come on.

At least they tried to make up for the fact they based the whole game arround the controller, one of their biggest mistakes EVER.

was this solved? can someone please explain how can i target a station node?
I use a joystick and i can cycle targets using hotkeys, as well as lock on object, which just locks on a ship within my cursor circle, but i dont know how to "lock" on station nodes, or deselect a target so i have no lock at all.

i seem to be able to double click with the mouse, but now that everything works fine for me using joystick buttons and axis, its really an issue going to the mouse to double click a station node everytime i want to select one for docking etc... what am i missing here?

It's probably one of those questions that will never be anwsered.

It is something they are working on, they use two separate control modes, one the point & click to select, for mouse and keyboard, and the point & autoselect, for gamepad and joysticks. With last update for joystick support, it was stated that they are working in making a toggle between this two modes for joystick users.

Perfect! thanks!
Ill wait for this functionality to be implemented then.

Boots in Puss, I do not really use joystick and go by what was posted here:

http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=364884

After that, the remaining issues are being reported in another thread, there is a big chance that someone already work out how to do it or find a work around, so I recommend you ask here:

I will give it a go, much appriciated
Would be nice if middle-mouse button could also be used.

Same on gamepad with "click stick".
Hinsonator Apr 26, 2014 @ 3:44am
Yeah but noone cares about gamepads.
Lupo Apr 26, 2014 @ 3:55am
Not true, I play with a gamepad, so obviously your statement is wrong, because I care.
Hinsonator Apr 26, 2014 @ 3:57am
Unless it's a joystick gamepad in that case maybie, because while this is a PC game and it should be built arround the KB/M combo it would still make sense to have a joystick config... i dunno why but some gamers prefer it in space games.

bumping, was this fixed in 2.0?
Szoreny Klepko May 20, 2014 @ 11:19am
Doesn't seem fixed to me, - I still have to pick up the mouse an click to target stations component if I've used a targetting hotkey previously.
