Trade computer and ship builder question

I have recently purchased the game and not been playing that long but I have a couple of questions. I am confused or having trouble with.

One of the trade computers (when you read its description) claims to produce graphs of all the stations buying and selling habits. How do you access this computer?

Do you have to do small talk to get trade information in each area of a station to get all the updates or just 1 person per station.

When you do small talk and choose the trade info option does it update your trade computer automatically with all the stations buy/sell inventory or just the special trade offers. And do you have to revisit the station still to keep the computer updated?

And lastly because this one is causing me some problems.
Is it possible to build your own private capital ship and small/medium ship construction station. I went to the station builder in hot air (I think) and the builders I need to use showed a ship being built at 0% for hours of game play. The other builder is available but he does not make large mining ships only a construction ship and a fighter ship. It is not progressing at all and there is a skeleton of a ship just sitting in the construction yard. I even tried shooting the skeleton ship to "clear the way" for my ship. And got blown into itty bitty pieces for my efforts.

the trading graphs are visible if you go for example to your station trade offers somewhere in the menu there you find economy statistics at the bottom, click it and the graph menu opens up. start enabling resources in there and lines pop in the screen filling the graph with info.

originally you have to smalltalk to get trade offer updates, but there is a mod that allows you to skip all this and do it without even boarding the station.
myself.. i'll bite through the smalltalk and keep it original.. atleast gives me more reason to dock.

when you get trade offer updates agent at a station by smalltalking you will see all the offers at a station. however if you want to unlock best prices you have to scan all the info points.

Nice guide Lupo thanks. I don't see any mention to player made ship yards though. Any idea if they can be built? This 0% error is driving me nuts. I can't seem to figure out what the station needs to finish the ship so I can start mine. So building my own ship yard would be great.

Also I get that you have to do small talk to get the trade offer updates option but do you have to do it once per station or once for each section within each station to get all the trade updates for that station? And are all the trade offers for the galaxy updated on you screen automatically, regardless of where you are, when you have someone doing the trade offers update for that station or do you have to re visit and get close to the station to get the updates?

No shipayard for players, talk to other shipyard guy and order a ship to build (big one) before purchasing, it will display materials needed, those in red will be the ones the Shipyard needs, also things go faster when you are out of zone, so maybe leave the zone and do a couple missions.

You only need a trade agent for station, you will see an "eye" icon next to the station name when you have a trade agent in place.

Aw to bad about the ship yard. Thanks for the info Lupo I did not know about the eye icon that helps a lot I could not remember which stations I had done and which I had bypassed during the plot.

I don't know if we are allowed to post mods here, if not feel free to delete the link, but I came across this one that allows you to construct a player owned ship yard. I have yet to figure out how to install it but once I do if it works I'll post here just so anyone else interested can try it out too.
