how to edit savegame in gz format?

turn off an old mod, which is not savegame friendly
now can't load game.
from my past exp, simply edit the savegame remove that mod tagging would do

but now the savegame is in gz format
wtf can't u use any standard compress format?

all u need to do is disable upload n downlaod from steam for save gaem files and unzip there saved game and then edit it that way launch the game load it n save it so u can reenable for the new file to be uploaded to your save file on steam as if you dont disable it the old file will keep downloading it making your changes void every time

also side note editing a saved game can alter the gameplay to cause bugs ect so do it at your own risk

you can also disable compression in the game settings.

Or unpack them with 7-Zip gui and remove the compressed one. The game will accept both for loading.
