Mission accepted "another gate open".....Help

ok i am really new to the game saw this mission was paying like 23mil so accepted it, basically the briefing says go map out the area behind this new gate, so off i go pop out the other side of the gate in Home of Light.
Open my zone map and see what i have to do...scan stuff. 2hrs later i have scanned every station and structure to 100% the only thing i have not scanned are a few ships that pop up but they are red and killed before i get to them.
So at the moment i am docked scratching my groin wondering what to do next........any tips appreciated, u have checked you tube and google but cannot find anything specific to this mission.

You have to map all the zones in the three sectors, no need to scan stations. I will suggest making some money, either by trading, looking for crates in space, salvaging wares after fights or boarding.

Not sure i follow with the not have to scan stations bit, these were in the zon map option with a % next to them the more parts i scanned the more the % increased till it reached 100% if this is not needed then how do i map the zones?

You map zones by flying into them. You may notice a "unknown zone" message in some highways, if you fly to that unknown zone, you actually unlock the name and you map it. Of course you can go further and map all the stations in that zone, but for the mission, it is not necessary.

As said scanning stations isnt needed ... if you want to get the mission done without help you basically have to fly arround and take on certain missions ..like "scan this anamolie" or "get back my wares"...and so on. They sometimes bring you into the sectors that are less obvious. Another way would be to get a big ship and tell to fly it somewhere. For some reason I do not know AI autopilot can fly a straight line ..but instead goes through all zones until it reaches the closet to get off. :> ..can be anyoing as hell. All in all this will take you a while. So dont expect quick profit.
