Stuck on Searching for Trades
So heres the deal.

One of my H20 Plants has 156 thousand units of water and my array has thousands of fuel cells also.
My Valley Plantation needs water: energy and has wheat to sell.

I've assigned a liquid freighter, energy freighter and bulk freighter to the Valley Plantation but sadly for the last hour and a half the frieghters have been 'Searching for Trades' regardless of what price i set (currently buying at the highest price to to see what happens) - is there a fix for this, am i doing something wrong? My other independent traders and miners are working perfectly but any ships i assign to a station manager are constantly stuck on searching for trades? Looked everywhere for a souloution to this for not avail.

Thanks.

If I want my stations to water only from my H20 fac, what I've done in the past is restrict the buyer (in this case, specifically for water) and set the buy price to the lowest price +1. Then for the seller; restrict them as well and set the sell price to lowest price.

The AI, by my understanding works on the principle of buy low and sell high. Using the trade restriction setting stops them from trading with anyone else so they will look only to your stations to find trades.

Thanks for your reply, mate this is happening on ALL of my stations though with ships attached to them - they wont buy or sell ant any price.

Just checking the basics, does your stations have the radar built and the range set at maximum?
MeetTheRookie Jul 8, 2016 @ 7:06am
Radar is built - what ideally should the range be in km? It's set to 50 right now but unable to click details to change it?
Lupo Jul 8, 2016 @ 7:33am
Range should be "system", I think that is the maximum for station Radar. Should be able to change from either Manager details or Stations details.

Lupo, i'll give this a try, thanks, buddy.

Nope still doing it sadly and i'm selling water from a station in a zone that needs water so i have no idea what the issue is.
MeetTheRookie Jul 9, 2016 @ 4:42am
Whats more is if i make them autotrade via YAT they'll go straight to it, pick it up and sell it - assign it to the station it'ssuck on searching. My energy transporter WAS working with the station and now suddenly stopped too. Nightmare.
Lupo Jul 9, 2016 @ 6:20am
It may be that is not finding the right price for the wares, managers use way bigger margins that YAT, so if the price is not right it will be stuck in the "searching for trades" till prices are better.

I put the sell prices at the lowest there is and its still not selling - and i do have other ships buying from the water station so i assume if they're buying surely they should be selling too?

Same issue here... I've a Bulk Rahanas doing some trade for my mining warehouse and it's work just fine, the issue is with little trading ships, like Gigurum. They keep searching for trade for ever... Tried everything, built radars, tried higher buy prices, nothing work... I've a Energy Array with a lot of energy cells to sell and 5 stations around needing energy, but the Enervey Array ships keep searching for trades... I believe that's a bug... And before someone tells me to do basic stuff, just remember that I'm no noob on the X Universe, I'm playing X games since X2 and I know how confusing X games are... The bug is perhaps linux related ; I keep seeing in my active board that I need to assign trading ships to managers, and even when I do that the "mission" is still there, but back at the stations menus I can see that the ships I assign to it are there...

Bulk Rahanas for bulk mining ores will work fine. You didnt specify which type of Gigurums you assigned though.

If you are sure then report with save file on egosoft forums.

I assigned Energy Gigurums of course since I'm trying to transfer EC from my Energy Array to my stations in the same sector. Some say that cargolifter and Mass Traffic do this automatically, but I never saw a cargolifter flying between stations so I can't confirm that... All my Gigurum keep Searching for trade... I've tried every possible combination of restrictions, prices, owner (I've even tried to give one Gigurum to each stations to see if they could buy EC from my Energy station... nothing work... So I gave up) ; I just let the stations work by themslves, and the money keep coming in... I'm extremly rich, have a fleet of rahanas doing manual trades for profit, my stations give me money every 5 minutes or so... Everything is going well, but managers didn't know what to do with assigned ships... They keep searching for trades, for ever, even if there is a lot of trading to do since almost the entire system (HoL) is knowed and every single station have Trading Agents (and I have a radar in every station)

So my question is : what's the rule for assigned ships for selling goods from a station? Because I've the feeling they easily buy goods for productino, but they never sell them (all profit seem to be done with NPC ships trading with my stations)... And before someone ask : yes, I looked at my selling prices and there is a lot of trading deals possible in range. So I'm missing something for about 2 years now... It's not a big issue for me, but I could get a lot more money if the assigned ships could sold some goods!

can you give me a screen of your station settings?
a savegame would be better but i think a screen will do it for me.
