How do I increase the font size?

I googled, but could not find any help... there must be a way, surely, than running it in low res?

This is unfortunate because it makes the otherwise beautiful 4k experience hard to play, even on my 40'' 4k monitor it is hard meaning that it would also be hard to play with this default font size would be small on a 26'' 1080p monitor. Is this design oversight something that could be fixed in an update down the road by chance?

30" 2560x1600 and sitting about 70 cm from the screen, no issues. When playing with my oculus rift on the soffa (virtual desktop with a 300" curved) no problem with the text.

I do understand that there can be problems when sitting in the soffa and having a 4k screen far away.

I had this problem as well, only solution was to reduce screen to a normal hd res. 2k and 4k was not playable for me as I have very poor eyesight. To be honest 4k only seemed to make text almost unreadable, the rest of the game was just like it was on normal resolution.

Even though I can play it on super, I tend to reduce a lot of the settings to make it playable for my eyesight, I haven't noticed that reducing the resolution has impared the gameplay in anyway.

I'm on a 27" 1440p, had to set resolution to 1080p to be able to read it... it's also hard with the colors used.

It bother me a lot, the font size of the game like dialogue menu is equal to 8~9pt, it's unreadable in chinese character.

I'm sure there are lots of people report it, and it's still not fix yet, after 3 years passes.

My main complaint is with the HUD UI in the top right of the screen with updates on important stuff. It's so small that I miss trade update info when in dogfights because I have to lean in very close to the screen to read it. Most of the other font is fine, at least in English. Captions are fine, circle menu and sidebar are big enough, menus and "full screen" windows are readable from across the room but the little corner pop-up boxes that appear to be pixel constrained are much too small to read at normal viewing distance (~1m). Would really appreciate some sort of fix in a Version 4.5 or 5.0 if possible. Also if someone knows of a mod that fixes this I would love to know.

Have you tried refitting the cockpit (available from Mechanics on stations at a cost) you might find a cockpit that displays information clearer.

The information in the top right corner is a UI element that is the same on all cockpits and is also shown when inside stations. A different cockpit was the solution for the center console pannel, the Mk3 "Combat" cockpit is the one I usually settle on because it its larger HUD panels.
