X Rebirth Scanning Guide.

Okay, this is my first guide so bare with me. Early Scanning is pretty simple, open your ships scanning modes and choose Long Range Scanner (Menu-1-5), best place for early scanning is in the sector Far Out, around the zone called The Big Empty, aim out from the planet and scan, once you find a crate (pings on the screen) fly to it, scan every few seconds to make sure you dont loose it, once you get to it, use the mining laser to shoot the red glowing locks to open it. The mining Laser is your best friend for this role. once the crate is opened and the loot falls out hold the O key (not the zero key, the letter O) and collect, then rinse and repeat until your ready to sell. see, simple.

Now for more advanced Scanning you are going to want to build your ship up a little, better shields for a start and maybe a mk2 weapon, you will want the Police Scanner upgrade also because where we are going next is gonna make the basic scanner useless, with the Police Scanner Crates are now color coded, rocks and crap like that will now ping white, where as crates will now ping blue and more importantly they will now sound different to trash when pinged making it a lot easier to know when you have found something. Now once you have the new scanner and other upgrades, fly to Maelstrom and find Sigma Sector, once here find the zone Sturdy Crusader, this is a hazardous zone meaning you take damage while in there, however, you only take damage when moving so bringing your ship to a full stop allows your shields to recharge. this map is full of crates, i can guarantee you will find a crate with every scan and more importantly, you will also find a lot of the rare crates here (yellow ping and a bell like tone). scanning in this map will earn you 10s of millions per hour.

Summary and Tips;

-Go to zone and activate the LR Scanner.
-Use the Mining Laser to shoot the crates locks off.
-Press and hold the letter O to suck up the loot.
-Destroy the now empty crate to prevent the scanner from pinging it.

Enjoy, you can now make tens of millions per hour (in the Maelstrom > Sigma Sector > Sturdy Crusader Zone).

1.5 - 2 Hours in Sturdy Crusader earned me 174,358,481Cr.

Edit - Any Hazardous Region will work the same as the Sturdy Crusader Zone, although Sturdy Crusader seems a lot more forgiving than the Hazardous Region i found in the Teladi Outpost area (Fields of Opportunity > Serpentine Haze > Last Resort) (or enter Fields of Opportunity, head towards the Teladi Station and look to the left, its the big blue cloud. but as i said its a lot more damaging than Sturdy Crusader so be careful.
