Fusion reactors?
In the campaign, I'm building the URV wharf in Glaring Truth. I have all the necessary resources in quantity apart from the fusion reactors (114 needed). I have been to the stations known to sell them but cant buy any. Even the stations in ascendency wont sell them. Where else can I find them. I cant explore OL yet so its a no-go there.

You could look for the PMC freighters that buy the fusion reactors and comandeer those.

Thanks, though I'm literally going around in circles to find these freighters.

I just built the fusion reactor station before leaving with other supporting stations made a lot money that way.

Try camping the stations that manufacture the reactors. You can find a list of factories here:

Also, scan the production modules to see when the next batch gets produced, it will be snatched up by NPC's very quickly.

Finally, steel plates might become your next problem so best start keeping an eye out for them.

I find that freighters carrying fusion reactors in Albion space are the Sanahar class and owned by PMC. Sanahars are also often found carrying various weapons, reinforced metal plates, shield generators and in WF's case, food rations

I had this problem on a second play through. I could not find any ships carrying them and spent many hours camping known sectors waiting for a freighter to come through. In the end I ended up using a mod that builds another ship tech fab in Albion so I could buy them.

Considered as a cheat but I was not too bothered as it was my second play through anyway.

its not impossible to scan ships as they pass by. or since you know what is to occur. why not invest in some trades to set up before the plutarch go ape on ya... i usually start the game getting tech fusion generators after getting the rehanas, its a smart move. also the demand at the begiuning of the game is really light. after things cook up, you will be hard pressed to find any. The other way is stay near a good tech lab producing any sizable quanity. when the enemy plutarch ship jumps in get a boarding crew to take it by force out of sector as they leave the system. then theres a mod...that can give you more via the habitation stations in devries... its kinda cheety. but it saves a huge time.

agree with the sanahar taking plan, they do not really have a large defense and usually are loaded with fusion or some other valuables...{evil grin}

another plan could be: before PMC turn aggressif, use your rahanna to sell vast quantity of ressource to the station making the reactor, so when you need them, they should be plenty of ship around with those in their cargo. if their ship just fly around aimelessly, DESTROY THEM. they will be replace sometime later and then you might have a chance to either get a respawn with reactor in his cargo or just a less bugged ship that will go gather reactor.

i might be mistaken, but i think Ships respawn without wares. only exception is on Gamestart/fresh game to make it look like the universe existed before that.

Also your plan might work on the short term, but said Wares are constantly consumed (especially by Shipyards) so if you dont keep supplying the Factories the Wares will be consumed eventually.
Warlord Oct 27, 2016 @ 9:05am
not sure if that can happen, but back in the days when bug were the majority of the game, ships would every once in a while be stuck in a loop where they would have the ressource, they have the sell order but they would'nt apply it for some reason. sometime the warehouse was full and they could'nt sell their stuff, sometime ship would be bugged somewhere preventing command to be ever finish...

i think most of those have been resolve, but sometime you need to kick/punch the machine and see if the whole process reboot by itself. if it does'nt, there is still the option to edit your save files...

Part of the player's job is to look around and find out what basic resources are in short supply in your area, and then go find some for the NPC factories. Profitsss... and everything is easier to find after you do that.

It is not such a continuing thing as it seems. Once the shipyards build more NPC ships, they will take over for their factories (mostly).

Fly to Gemstone Manufacture and order a CV from the capital dealership.
Pick out your own little chunk of space along the local highway somewhere in Far Out.
Build a Ship Tech Fab.
Profit.

Any questions?

Or even easier... in Empty Space behind the Gate in Auspicious Excavation.

One can easy setup a Construction Shop and Ship Tech Fab before the Plot kicks in... and even after that you are still able to build in Albion Empty Space.

You can also just let Ledda and Co deliver Reactors and RMP to a CV that is performing a Construction order and grab what you need from it.

And by the way.. nice to read some advertise relating my mods in here. :steamhappy:
