I wonder if this is the way its supposed to be (that would make no sense), or is just a broken feature.
Did you give the architect some money? If you don't do that the architect won't be able to send the ships out to purchase goods.
Im about to start my second base, i will do the same and wait longer to see if she actually does it herself.
Thanks guys.
Anyway, even without giving her ships, i now got the notification from the architect that she has completed the upgrade i ordered.
So i guess i just had to wait longer.
I have installed the mod that extends the station manager trade range to galaxy level. And i am considering building a station on Maelstrom or Fields of oportunity just for S&G. It could be fun watching those nasty telady phoenix or xenon Ks getting blasted by my station instead of having to keep a permanent patrol with a Taranis as i do now.
Think its a good idea?
In early/mid game I had a lot of trouble at FoO in Verdant Profit. With those nasty round jellyfish shaped Cartel destroyers actively destroying my freighters going thru. But i dint install AvoidFoO. Instead i bought a Taranis, 5 escort fighters for it, and ordered it to keep patrol in that sector. So far he has dispatched dozens of those Carlet and (whats the other faction name? someting Arms) ships going in there to commit piracy.
Im more affraid of Maelstrom than FoO. The enemies in FoO are allways those jellyfish round things, wich go down easy. However in Maelstron there usually are Xenon K destroyers that seem to eat Balors and any non XL ship for breakfast, and i once even encountered a HUGE Xenon I. I had to run away scared with my 2 Light SULs and Balor (my escorts), and call in the Arawn and Taranis. It took ALL of these ships, 2 light Sul, 1 Balor, 1 Arawn and one Taranis to take it down. And they all ended up with heavy damage!

(Not to be confused with this station in X4)
