Multiplayer with friend? How to do?

This might sound strange for some, especially considering that this is a multiplayer game made for play with friends... But...

How do I play multiplayer with friends on this game.

I have tried just everything but cant find a way to add the friend online. Cant even find him or the games he creates.

There are different versions on the game, each region locked in different area (e.g. NA, EU). If you want to add a person from your region (Europe + Russia + UAE) simply search for their nick via buddy menu[image.board.gameforge.com].

How do I check what version that I am using and my friend is using. Both are swedes and run it via steam.

We cant find each other in the buddy menu.
