Meat quantity
Does the amount of meat you get from animals increase the more animals you butcher? I feel like it would be more logical (and rewarding) to have animals give more meat when you butcher them, but have most of the meat spoil before you can eat it unless you are at the point of the game where have the equipment to dry/preserve it.

Haven't gotten to this point in my playthrough yet, but in Tropical island tamed animals like boars (nor birds though) had a % for "Fatness" which would give more mean when you butchered it if it was high since they were well.. plumpier.

Sturgeons and Big game provide a lot of meat, more than you could ever eat on the spot only with preservation through cooking the food. You have to be able to dry and preserve your food before hunting any big game (ovens & smoke houses, reed baskets, storage pots and cellars, notably).

No the amount of meat you get is unrelated to you skill. It mostly has to do with the type of animal. Different animals have a different range of how much meat and fat they can give you.
