You don't need time travel for this, just a controlled coma.
Damn it, I became the wrong kind of doctor….
And you picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue.
The timing of the event was chosen (by the organizers, not us) so as not to coincide with any major gaming events/conventions, and it seemed like it wasn't too too early on our end. Although from a player's perspective I get that it seems like ages away lol.
It wasn't because people constantly asked us about it, although it's definitely a nice feeling that our team doesn't have to keep it a secret anymore!
I've got news for you: You're Slay the Spire. AAA titles are drowned out by YOU!
Kinda like Yacht Club Games' Shovel Knight.
Lol maybe so! But something that we considered is that we could use our "clout" I guess you could say to lend our support to something that we felt was really missing in the industry.
Personally speaking(!) I think most indies in general really stick out from the AAA crowd lately, but I can't speak for the general gamer population, so at least this way we knew our announcement was going directly to our target audience.
Anyways we hope the wait flies by for y'all cause we're just as excited for you guys to get your hands on it!
As much as we would want that to be true.
StS is big in its own subgenre only mostly.
And the subgenre itself is pretty niche.
Deckbuilder > Roguelike.
I might be wrong but I don't think it has the broad reach of say Hades.
I think and already thought when it was announced that their choice of being THE announcement in the Triple i event was a very good choice.
I would have done the same if it was my project.
Also, they can announce their game whenever they want. Its our problem if we are impatient.
Then it will be their own task to (re)ignite interest when the time is right.
There sure isn't a shortage of those nowadays and many of them are sure worth checking out until StS2 comes out. Vault of the Void, Monster Train or Griftlands, just to name a few. You'll find one, that gets you through 2024, i'm sure.
