Cloud Save and Cross-Platform
I only have one request for the new game (I'm sure you'll do the rest perfectly <3 ):

A cloud save system and cross-platform access to those saves. So I can continue with the same profile at home on my computer and on the road on my mobile phone.

Isn't being able to do stuff like that one of the main reasons they switched over to Godot?

Cross-platform cloud saves would require MegaCrit to run their own servers just for that, they'd need their own account system to link your devices together, and they would need every platform holder to approve and sign off on the implementation. I think that's a bit much for a game like this, easier to just use Steam Cloud.

Oh, right. Godot might make it easier, but they would still need to do that, wouldn't they?

I hope they will still do it even if the cost is higher.
It will improve the game experience dramatically.
