Gunship Mods?

I know there's mods for the game/sim but has anyone gotten them to work with the Steam version? I'm looking for mods that make the AI helicopters flyable and so far only found 2, the heloswapper and mod m8.

I know of ModM8 and The Times of Sand. They are not made to go with each other. I am going to try The Times of Sand as it allows you to fly the AH-1 Cobra. The download info for that is http://www.simwarrior.com/gunship/GSTOS_beta.html

Cool, how do I get these to work with Steam's Gunship?

Just follow the instructions on the page...

"Installation instructions:
Make a new, clean installation of Gunship. Apply the 6/2000 MPS patch if you need it.
Rename the directory of the new install as: Gunship_TOS
Right-click on the installer file, and Save As into the new Gunship_TOS directory
Run the GS_TOSv1.exe installer
With any luck, you should now have a new desktop icon: Gunship The Times of Sand
Click it if you dare....

NOTE: If no desktop icon is created, you can launch GSTOS by running this file directly or by making a shortcut:

..\\Gunship_TOS\gunshipTOS_v4A_shipsHiD.exe

9/29/2004 update: There are two small patches now available:

Right-click here to download FarmObjData.zip . Save/Unzip into your Gunship_TOS\data\tiles\data folder.
Contains object placement files for the Farm 1&2 tiles. (I forgot 'em. Makes a huge difference.)
Right-click here to download GSBETACobraFix.zip . Save/Unzip into your Gunship_TOS\data folder.
This will (I hope) fix the CTD problem with Polak's new Cobra. Contains 3 sub-zipped files. See readme.txt for info."
