It's been officially confirmed long time ago that FM3 is next project. As for the new difficulty settings, considering how they handled FM1 and FM2 Remakes I highly doubt we will see any new "actual" content on the release. Remakes are focused on visual improvement.

Although they have announced brand new update for FM1 remake that adds completely new game modes and multiplayer so maybe FM3 Remake will get something too at some point.

Adding new modes and also items from the other games, like they did for FM 1, is fine.

If you don't like this, then don't play those extras, simple as that.

Actually FM2:R have new weapons and new Wanzers added compared to original (all to be unlocked as secrets) And it's a good thing.

"Secret" wanzers and weapons you are talking about were available in original game as well. Unless they added few more but I never saw any mention of them. If they were adding new content it would definitely be advertised and there is no mention of it anywhere.

Nope, Igel Eins H and Uisk were not in original FM2. You could unlock ugly wanzer Iyana or Jaboa (body only) or others, but first 2 are new.

On Switch gameplays you can find them. There was even small bug on Uisk which they fixed :) There are also 2 new weapons along with Uisk wanzer - Storm Trident and Heavy Trident (Rifle if I recall correctly and melee spike).

I think it was supposed to be a secret on Switch edit ha. But I am sure I saw Uisk wanzer on some promo arts for this premiere event.
Also, quickly looking into google on achievements for this game, there is ineed:

So I think unlocking achievements can actually let you find some neat secrets

beautiful! FM3 is the best of series. i pray they make graphics more "shiny". good shaders for mechs, environmental lighting, all those things. make it look cool!
current FM1 and FM2 remakes look like PS2's FM4 to be honest. even in terms of texture quality.. c'mon devs, you are capable for more! it's not that hard, we live in 2024

These remakes are low budget and it is reflected in their price. I wish it was better but they are at least fair about it. They cost 35$ which is a half of today "aaa" games.

"Lazy cashgrab exploiting nostalgia" is something you can call Battlefront Collection that changed absolutely nothing (apart from stealing mods) and costs the same as FM remakes which were pretty much remade from scratch in terms of visuals and added quite a bit of new features/options.
