Is this a fault with the game?

I've returned to the ruined castle and have the slider puzzle, the two mosaics and am trying to go back to the cavern where the Raven and the rucksack were. When I click on the doorway symbol it says somethng like "there used to be a doorway here" and will not let me pass through. Super frustrated, been really enjoying the game till now. Anyone help please?

As far as I remember you need to find three metal discs. Have you already solved the slider puzzle you got from Ralph? If not solve it. You get a small ball which is important to discover a secret room in the castle. You have to do this before you visit the academy (cavern with the rucksack) again.
