BM2 is my favourite in the trilogy, third one was disappointing. Looking for adventure game with similar dark gritty atmosphere with very strong base story.

Try Alter Ego, Nibiru, And There Were None, all Gabriel Knight series, Face Noir. Also LA Noir, but its more action game with noir atmosphere then traditional adventure point and click

Oxenfree I and II, Loretta, Dom Rusalok, Nightmare Frames, An English Haunting (but there is only a demo for this moment), Still Life (but only first, second is worse), Thimbleweed Park, Sherlock Holmes Awakned, The Excavation of Hob's Barrow. I think Layers of Fear both parts will be best option
