- Have you just installed the game or were you able to create savegame before with the same installation of the game?
- Is this the first time you installed the game on the used system or was it or the demo of the game installed before?
- What language version of the game are you playing (normally "New Entry" should be displayed if you want to create a savegame with the english version - so I guess you're playing a different language version)?
- To what language are the following Windows settings set to?
General Windows language, date and time format, timezone, region, input languages
- What Windows version (XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 / 32 or 64 Bit) are you using?
- Is Steam cloud saving enabled for the game?
- Does the subfolder "BlackMirror2" exist in your Documents folder?
-I tried to install the game many times either from steam or gog but each time I can't create a save file.
-No it wasn' the demo but the game and yes it was the first time on my system
-I tried the french and the english versions and it's the same problem
-My windows is in french, date in time format: day/month/year time: 11h38 timezone: Paris
region: europe, France, input languages(french I guess)???
-windows 10 64 bits
-steam cloud enabled
-the subfolder exists yes
Today I imported savegames from other players. I managed to make them appear in the save folder and in the game but it's stil impossible either to create a new savegame or to save on a previous imported savegame.
Windows settings -> Time and language -> Region and language (on the left sidebar)
What is displayed here at "Country or region"?
What is displayed under "Languages" (which languages and in which order)?
Windows settings -> Time and language -> Related Settings -> Additional date, Time and regional settings (on the right sidebar) -> Change date, time, or numbers formats (under Region)
What language is displayed at "Format"?
What is displayed in the field directly below "Format"?
Does your Windows username contain special french language characters (accent aigu, grave, circonflexe for example)?
Sorry to bother you with this, but it sounds like some kind of language font problem.
If you are trying to enter a savegame name, what happens if you click at the icon right next to the entry box on the right side (this is supposed to delete everything in the entry box)?
-under languages: Français
-Format: Français(France)
-below "format": faire correspondre à la langue d'affichage de windows(recommandé)
-Does your Windows username contain special french language characters (accent aigu, grave, circonflexe for example)?
No
-If you are trying to enter a savegame name, what happens if you click at the icon right next to the entry box on the right side (this is supposed to delete everything in the entry box)?
yes that's what happen
Only Français?
I'm using a german Windows (everything set to german). And under languages I have:
- Deutsch (Deutschland)
- English (United States)
Can you add "English (United States)" as the secondary language?
But you still cannot enter something and finish the save process after you've emptied the entry field with the button?
What about the Quicksave (F9 key) / Quickload (F10 key)? Does it work?
But you still cannot enter something and finish the save process after you've emptied the entry field with the button?
Yes I can enter something but even after having validate it,it doesn't work, I don't have any save at the name I entered
Quicksave and quickload don't work
To me it sounds like the game is unable to create files in the savegame folder.
There are a couple of possible things which can cause this.
What happens if you change a setting in the Options menu (like for example Display dialog sub-titles) of the game, save the change, leave the game and then start the game again. If you then have a look at the Options menu, is the change still present or has the change not been saved?
Is there something special about your Windows user folder?
Like for example did you reroute it to another drive? Or are there spaces in the username? Or is it an especially long username? Or is it automatically mirrored?
Could you create a new Windows testuser account with admin rights and a simple name like "test", log off your current account, log into the new testuser account and start the game from there? Does this work?
At the same time why would all the other games work and not this one?
Maybe the point in the user account name.
Maybe a tool running in the background in the autostart section of your normal user account.
Maybe some Windows settings only active in your normal user account.
You could created a second test account with a point in the username and admin rights. If you run the game from that account and saving doesn't work, than it's the point. Otherwise I would take a look at the tools running in the background and the Windows settings of your normal user account.
Just asking because there are two player who seems to have the same problem with
Black Mirror 3.
I have the same problem. Already checked firewall and the app is allowed to communicate through it.
- Just installed the game. Not able to save game.
- First time on the system.
- English language. "New entry" is displayed, but no entry created, I can't load the game afterwards.
- English (US), date format US (month/day/year), input languages English (US) and Russian.
- Windows 11 Pro
- Steam cloud saving enabled
- Subfolder "BlackMirror2" exists in my Documents folder
Update: I tried installing the game on my old laptop with Windows 10 Pro and different date format (day/month/year). Everything works there.
