is this that one game that redditors hate, because the MC reminds them of themselves or something?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the weirdness- every second after entering the factory felt like my brain was melting- but bizarre imagery and visual direction with no meaning behind it isn't ideal. I like all the new stuff added to this opening chunk, but without additional context it feels like weirdening things up just for the sake of it. Alex not reacting to any of it makes things even stranger... Again, if this is intentional and will be given context as to WHY it's so weird in the final game, then go ham....

Character cutscene dialogue completely shuts down my pc for some reason. First it was with Jocasta and I found out it was a resolution problem, the second I got past the pyramid and am in the section with the camera guy on top of the elevator. Every time i talk to the white looking ghosts it just shuts down. Anybody else have these issues or have a fix? Im running a fairly modern set up with a Ryzen 5 5600x and a 3070ti which should be more than capable to run the game...

Like, i'm one of the few that genuinely does vibe with YIIK, I had issues with the combat before, but man, like, idk man some stuff don't need to be quirky, the presentation is nice but the system is a lot more boring and esoteric, I'm glad it seems like you can revert to the old combat on the final thing. I just wanted the old system to be a little snappier and more balanced, i hope more work was put into that too, it feels like alienating the few people that liked it....

Everything is flickering all the time and it's ruining the visuals. I assume it's a display settings thing? Not sure how to fix it though. I'm playing on 2560x1440, that's my native resolution.
