graphics seem off so far?
The graphics seems like something is off, I'm not sure what it is. Maybe graphics are not sharp enough in VR compare to the trailer videos. No matter how much I play with the lighting it seems off. I have over 300 VR games so its not that I'm new to VRs quality.

Yes there are some issues with the graphics in VR. For example, TAA isn't turning off even if you select None in the graphics options (although when it goes into a cutscene it does turn off, weird). Also some kind of blur on the edges of the screen which makes the binocular fov even narrower.

You can force all anti-aliasing off to increase the sharpness by editing the engine.ini. I put the instructions to do that on the PcGamingWiki page for the game.

Actually I was just testing it and it looks best with FXAA on. I edited the PCGW to reflect that.

Anti-aliasing (AA) • Link

In-game AA settings broken, doesn't turn off TAA

Change AA method to FXAA by editing a config file

Go to the configuration file location.
Open Engine.ini with a text editor.
Add the following text at the bottom of the file:

[SystemSettings]
r.AntiAliasingMethod=1
r.FXAAQuality=5

Save the file.

This makes the game much clearer while still providing some form of anti-aliasing. Recommended for VR users.

Completely remove AA by editing a config file

Go to the configuration file location.
Open Engine.ini with a text editor.
Add the following text at the bottom of the file:

[SystemSettings]
r.AntiAliasingMethod=0

Save the file.

I can't find the Open Engine.ini file in the game folder
The Engine.ini is in local app data.
Paste this into the bar at the top of your windows file explorer:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\TheMidnightWalk\Saved\Config\Windows\

I used this,

[SystemSettings]
r.AntiAliasingMethod=1
r.FXAAQuality=5

looks much better, thanks
You can add r.tonemapper.sharpen=1 for a bit of sharpness to compensate for the fxaa blur and r.tonemapper.quality=0 to turn off the vignette that darkens the edges of each lens.

If they make this standard for their VR setup it'd be quite nice.
