Also I just tried completely delting the program including the data files that were left after deleting local content, and reinstalling but its the same problem still.
As to the updater popping up on its own, just hit save and play. With steam at least, that is all you need to do. If another version of game then you would need to navigate to where ever you downloaded it too.
Karbala 4 is the Basra DLC. So you probably want that. =)
Now I am just plopping down the list of possible issues.
Now another maybe is a missing Microsoft redistributable library. Or somehow installed funky. Who knows...
Have you ever gotten into the actual sim part? That is unclear to me. Or is it just locking up going from map to set up phase?
It would seem weid that an old save could be corrupted - as I have deleted everything before reinstalling including the save games.
Check with regards to the updater.
How do I verify the Microsoft redistrubatble library ?
No - I never get into the Sim part. I only come as far as the setup fase. As soon as i try to move or interacrt with the units, then the games crashes.
Ok that is weird. Does game throw an error message? In your SABOW folder in install location in the out folder there can be an error report. The one called common engine I think. What does that file say?
The file for the redistributable can be downloaded via microsoft or look in the folder in SABOW _commonRedist. In the folder marked vcredist/2005 there is one for 32 bit windows and one for 64bit. Not a clue if those work right for windows 10...probably. Still have not gone over to 10 yet. But its 2005 vcredist_X whatever is what you are looking for. If that is what is the cause.
I think this is right one from microsoft web sight. Well for 64bit windows. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21254
Tried updating everything, including your link - no joy.
A long time since I needed your help.
Ive puchased Steel Armor and after going through familiarising with the controls I decided to purchase the add on.
Ive read the input from nick bang.I also have problems with the Basra Campaign.
I get to the operational map .Then when the' large flares' appear I press there as usual but instead of going to the battle I get what I can only describe as an explosion where the flare was and then the turn is finished and the game goes on to the next turn.
Ive found the local cache hasnt verified. There are either 3 or one file needing to be downloaded .Once it has fully verified the cache Basra still shows explosion where the flare was . Im going round in circles here.
I cant more easily describe the issue Im getting.
Regards.
Ive verified cache again and solved the issue for now.
I used C cleaner and ran a virus scan. No viruses . I must have cleared the system of data gathered from the basic game.
I am surprised that the developers of this othervise excellent game havent been more forthcoming with correcting these bugs ?
