From what I read, it said that the personality was a hint to what the dog was not good at.
I have a male obedient white Husky that is natural at leading. But my Steady wheeler and strong middle dogs are both low at leading.

From what I understand from the journal, The personality trait gives preference to one position, but will always have no skill in the same position for any dog.

So obedient dogs have no skill in the wheel position and prefers the middle position. So when hiring an obedient dog, you can be sure that it will never have skill in wheel position, and since it prefers middle, it will have a high chance to be natural in middle position, though not 100% of the time.

I believe strong is the trait that prefers lead, from my personal experience at least. And even then, since it's not guaranteed, you can get a few strong dogs that doesn't develop natural lead skill.

I'm not sure breed has much to do with it, but my Lead dogs are an Obedient Husky and a Strong Husky.

From what I understand from the journal, The personality trait gives preference to one position, but will always have no skill in the same position for any dog.

I've had the "No Skill in position <x>" consistent among all dogs of the same personality, and that does match the journal. I'm not sure about how much they prefer the other two however; 2 out of my 3 strong dogs prefer Wheel. On the other hand, so are 2 out of 3 of my Steady Dogs so far. And my only Obedient dog is one of the Leads.

Thank you guys for the feedback. I had two strong dogs that weren't leads, but I finally got a Strong Black Lab that is a natural for leading.

Peronality has a tendancy to develop as follows:

Steady => Natural for Middle, Adept for Wheel
Strong => Natural for Wheel, Adept for Lead
Obedient => Natural for Lead, Adept for Middle

That's the general evolution I have with pecific dog personalities. Ofc there are deviations, but that i a good guideline to follow to find the right dogs when they don't how their ability when hiring a new dog.
