Game Ending?

Well its clear the devs have abandoned this game and nice and all, but i'm nearly 1000 days into a play through and was wondering if there's any real end after hiring the Jerk? I love the game but don't know if its worth it to keep grinding endlessly for no reward.

2256 days and nothing happens. I still enjoy the races but yeah, no ending.

Darn, that sucks. I haven't gotten the last two journal entries and i'm beginning to wonder if they just don't exist

The game is meant to be an open-ended kind of game. Meaning there is no real ending. You can continue hiring/retiring dogs, racing, breeding, and so on. I don't mind it really, although I would have liked to see some more concrete closure. :/

I may be a bit late, but regarding the journal entries, for "Story", I've got 28/28, the last two for me were:
the entry about hiring the jerk at some point the jerk will say if you win one more time, he'll work for you, I think it came up as soon as the jerk was available for hiring or maybe as soon as you hired him, not completly sure...
and the last one is just about certain holiday, I think you can get this entry very soon ;) I played on October 29th last year when I got the entry and you even get some halloween decorations in your kennel :)

Normally it goes one race = you set your dogs to rest = you click for new day.
So technically one race = one day. Considering all that takes just a few minutes, one day lasts a few minutes, depending on how many things you tinker with in between.

Gosh, I wonder why there is no real end.
It would be awesome if there was a mission or hard thing to do or you can have a franchize or something at the end.

Well not every game needs to have a concrete end. I like that we can play on forever sandbox style, though I wish there were some more content to it.

I guess game end is when protagonist close diary and diary get it's name "Dog Sled Saga". It looks like most movies and games do today - it show you own name in the end.
