edit:MORE IMPORTANTLY MAKE SURE ITS MONO, not stereo
for mp3:s include also artist name, track name, album name, track number, year, and (maybe style). they do not need to be official, any value will do. example i have values: a, a, a, 0, 0, a.
this guy had issue with one track, and could make it work

there's some pointers here

translation for above link.
-don't start other applications with sound, when running tts. (possibility it's fine if you run them before hand and don't disable/enable sounds while tts is running.)
-if it gets bugged, restart tts.
-possible fix without restarting is to switch default audio output device temporalily.
Mp3 files can NOT have 16 bit 44100hz formats. the highest they can have is 16bit 24000.
how so?
should be easy enough to convert 24000Hz to 48000Hz
I had a problematic clip that I had myself edited in Audacity and exported to MP3. It crashed every time it came to the end, whether I had it on repeat or not.
I opened it in Audacity and switched to 16bit as suggested in this topic, exported it to MP3 again, and it worked!
Then I opened the original 32bit file again, changed the export settings back to 32bit, exported it to MP3, and it still worked.
I think all the different solutions people have come up with, changing bitrate, changing encoding, changing to mono, etc... were all just the results of random chance. Just exporting the file, importing it, and exporting it again without any other changes, may have just also done the trick.
Edit: Just adding this for whomever comes across it, I managed to fix my problem by deleting the album cover metadata from the id3 of the files, after that, they loaded correctly.
