WWW Model Error: Cannot Connect to Destination Host
I just got this game a week or so ago, and have been having this problem consistently since I downloaded it. Every time I go to load up any of the workshop content I have, I get this error and the models affected show up as little orbs that I cannot interact with. Sometimes only a few things error, and other times almost everything does. My friends have the same workshop content and have no issues whatsoever. I have already done the following:

-Deleted ALL files associated with the game and workshop content for this and reinstalled
-Checked all anti-virus and firewall settings
-Disabled mod threading
-Disabled mod caching
-Verified game data
-Unsubscribed and resubscribed to all workshop content
-Checked that all drivers were up to date

I have been searching for someone with a similar problem, but have not come across any threads for it. Any help is appreciated.

When this error comes up, it will most likely show you the custom model window of the affected object. Try copying one of the affected links from that window and paste them into your browser to see if it gives you an error there as well or not. If you get an error in your browser too, then either the link is broken and you have to ask the original workshop creator for a reupload (or anyone else that still has the file cached) - or if the link still works for others but not for you, then there is some kind of connection problem on your end.

I'm not sure what I did, but it seems to have fixed all but three models on one of the mods. I just won't use that one since I have other ones that I prefer. Thanks for the help!

If the connection problem is on my end what can I do to fix it?

I'm not sure. It wasn't long after the stuff seemed to have fixed itself before I started having issues again and gave up.

My Symptoms: No 3D models could load in any workshop mod, except if I had the model cached. Browser testing the links also failed, even though it worked fine from other computers.

MY SOLUTION: Windows' "hosts" file. Hidden in Windows drivers there is a file that maps host names to IP addresses. For some reason, Dropbox.com and steam's hosting address were in there, listed as 127.0.0.1. I deleted those lines and now models work!

The hosts file can be found in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

I'd like to chime in and answer with potentially the correct solution for all these problems.

Your ISP is basically not properly resolving Pastebin, Imgur and whatever name it's receiving, so just go to your Networks Settings, change your default DNS address to Google or Cloudflare, instead of picking ISP DNS address automatically.

That solved all my bugs over here.
