Importing OBJ files created with SketchUp
Whenever I try to import an object that I made in SketchUp Make (15.2.685 64bit), nothing happens. Before exporing it to OBJ do I need to do something specific? Been at it for several hours, and I didn't find a solution.

Here's an example cube click[pastebin.com]
nothing happens when I try to import that.

If you know what I'm doing wrong, please help.
Thanks in advance.

Hey there,

I've never used Sketchup, so I did some experimenting.

It seems the issue is that your scale is much too large. If you look at the "v" entries, they are 10,000 units apart. After I went through and reduced those entries to 1 instead of 10,000, the cube imported into TTS without issue.

I think TTS may import units uniformly, so you might want to switch to a larger unit, and scale down your objects before exporting.

Good luck :)

You were right, size was way too big. That helped a lot, thanks for pointing that out!

What's left is figure out how to create a texture image for the model :thinkcyto:

I am having issues importing a file I created in Sketchup as well. My issue is a bit different. Some of the faces are transparent, some show the image texture, so it doesn't look right. I tried to reverse some of the faces but this did not fix the problem. Any ideas or suggestions?

FYI - I figured it out - I had to change options and picked "Triangulate" and "Export Edges" and that fixed it!
