Copy & Paste URL Functionality
Because physically typing the entire URL for a single item is becoming very tedious.
Why can't we just Copy & Paste a URL?

I'm pretty sure I answered this already in another thread or site, but I can't remember where. Basically, you CAN copy and paste, you just don't right click to do it. Just Ctrl C and Ctrl V just like you do in windows. Also in case you didn't know you can do the same with the game objects as well. Hover/hold an item and press ctrl c and ctrl v. Thanks!

Moving this to general.

Highlight url:
Hit Ctrl-C
Go to the box where you want the address:
Hit Ctrl-V

Done.

CTRL-C + CTRL-V does not work from GNU/Linux into the game. At least not my distro.

If your distro doesn't support basic keyboard commands, that's not inherently a problem with Tabletop simulator... maybe see if someone's fixed it for your distro? Lack of keyboard shortcuts in a linux distro is sure to bother a LOT of people, since Linux users are going to be the types who need them even more than the layman.

A quick google tells me that your copy and paste functions might be ctrl-x for a cut, and then shift-insert for paste.

Wow you're silly. Of course my distro supports those keyboard commands. I'm saying I can't copy from the OS into the game.

I can get copy and paste to work...sort of. I have to use the shortcuts to do it. But it still wont show up on the table. It seems there should be an easier way to do this as the tutorials show no issues and make it seem easy.

Necklace: I've found that pasting a URL from chromium into gedit, then copying the text in gedit actually allows me to paste the text into the game (also sometimes it takes two pastes, the first one contains the old tts clipboard for some reason)

Is this recent? All the vids on youtube showed this as just a drag and drop. I want that!

You could at least TRY not to be rude to people who are trying to help you.

Well I did get it to work, although it isnt exactly what I'd call the right way.
I first copy the IMG URL location then I paste it to notepad. then I can use CTRL-C to copy that Address String and finally use CTRL-V to paste into the tabletop. I dont know why I have to copy it to notepad first, but its the only way I can get it to work.
