Randomize/shuffle Mahjong tiles?
I'm working on creating a workshop mod which uses tiles from the Mahjong game that comes with Tabletop Simulator. However, when I reload the game, it has the exact same Mahjong tiles each time. My desired outcome is that I have the same tile placement, but with different tile values (as in, each tile is there, but it's automatically "shuffled"). Can anyone help me figure this out? Is it even possible? Many thanks!

Don't think that it is possible.

How is it done in the base Mahjong game in TTS? Or is that some magic that we don't have access to?

Yea, I think it is just something Berserk Games implemented but don't give us access to.

It's because when you play the official one it's a new game every time. However, player created games are just loading a saved file. The best thing you can really do is put them all into a bag. Then you'd need to shuffle the bag and deal them out each time you play. It's a bit of extra effort, but as far as I know it's the only way to cope.

That kind of defeats the point. The set up time is massive and most people would rather just play a different game than have to manually set it up in TTS.

I had suggested, a while ago, a way to save a way a game is laid out, without saving the cards or tiles, etc, themselves. IE, you put 5 cards face down in one spot, a single card face down next to it, another single card face down next to that, 5 cards face down next to them, 5 cards each in two player hands, and 17 cards each next to the player hands. Save it as a layout state instead of a game state, and whenever you open that one, TTS automatically deals a new game of Speed.

Unfortunately, not implemented yet, and I'm not going to keep suggesting the same ideas. Would rather not annoy the devs. I don't even recall anyone commenting on the idea.
