Is there a way to edit a .json file to include .pdf manuals?
Hi.

I am wondering if there is a way for me to edit a .json file to include the .pdf game manual for a game?

What I mean is, I am just learning the Tabletop game called Mage Knight, and instead of switching back & forth between Tabletop Simulator & Adobe I could just open up the rules menu, and read from within the game.

Thanks ahead of time.

Odd, I can't it to work at all. I tried using the tablet using file://Path to .pdf file, and that won't work. I uploaded one of the .pdf files to my webhost, and I still can't access it. Then Tabletop just crashes on me.

I noticed in the .json file there is a line "Rules": "",, and I noticed above it "TableURL":.

Now I am wondering if I could change 'Rules":"" to "RulesURL": and have it have the path of the .pdf file?

Just thinking folks.

The Rules section is similar to the notepad (without a size restriction), it's just a basic text area for inputting a game's rules. You can find it under the Menu button on the top bar.

Persona's suggestion of placing it as a sharable file on Google Docs is probably going to be your best bet.

I guess there is no other way to go about it.

Thanks TRIBALien.

If you just want a rulebook, perhaps you could convert the PDF into a series of JPGs with a utility. (There are even online utilities that can accomplish this.) You could then import those images as a rulebook deck to refer to during the game.

Hmmm, now that is a good idea. Okay thank you I'll give that a try!

Cheers, and Thanks!

Just released a patch that greatly improved the Tablet, it should work great for displaying PDFs if you follow Persona's instructions.
