Change background of game in progress?
Change background of game in progress? Possible?

Yes. Select a new background under the Hosts tab, or load one from a save or workshop mod by clicking the downward arrow to the right of its name. This will bring up a drop down menu with all the components of the item. Click the background.

I only see six preset background... yet there are some on the workshop I can't seem to choose from that I subscribed to.

After you've subscribed to a background on the workshop, go to the workshop tab mid-game and find the background you want. Click the small down arrow on the right, and load just the background.

Because this post is from 2015 and the UI have been replaced in latest updates.

The basic premise is still the same with the new UI.
  1. Open the Workshop list in-game
  2. Find the entry with the background you want
  3. Click the entry's options button (the three dots in the upper-right corner)
  4. Select "Expand" from the drop-down menu that appears
  5. In the window that lists the mod's elements: pick "Custom Background"
