Workshop files have no extension

HI, trying to download a steam workshop mod using the online downloader. Unfortunately, every mod I download has a file named WorkshopUpload and has no file extension (The other file, the json file, I know where to place). But the WorkshopUpload has no extension.
In its properties it states that the file type is "file".
What to do with this file?

u should be able to ignore it.

steam downloads that file automatically, or was it tts.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Since it seems you do not own the game, I guess you are looking to get your hands on the material (models and images) from the mod to use them elsewhere.

So let me tell you right away that TTS workshop mods do not contain the files in plain. They exist as references to online servers from which they are downloaded once the save loads in the game.
That means if you want to extract files, you will have to sift through the json file to find the links to the material you need, paste them in your browser and download them that way.

Yes I don't have the game on this account, but I have 202 hours playing this game on this account. (share from my other steam account.... lots more hours there). I want to have the mods in my hard drive for offline gaming.

Ok I think I understand. When TTS load the game, automatically download the json file correct? So, I dont need online downloader eh? Can I play them (single player or share screen) without internet connection?

In that case you should either subscribe to the mod in steam, then open it ingame and (important) also empty all the bags and containers to force the game to download their contents too, then you can disconnect from the internet and continue playing them offline, if your mod caching is enabled (on by defailt).

The other option would be the mod backup tool.
