Dropbox import
Is there a way to link to images on my dropbox to import custom card decks and boards? So far I can't seem to find any way of linking to images in my dropbox without getting an "Improper URL" error, resulting in me uploading the images elsewhere instead.

EDIT:
For anyone who reads this in the future, the problem was solved by enabling a public folder through settings on my Dropbox account and putting the images in there. The links to images in the public folder work fine.

Do you have the cards properly formatted and is your dropbox publically accessible?

Can you link to the image file you're attempting to make cards out of?

I cannot access this file, you do not have it set up for public access.

This is why TTS cannot import the card.

You have to make sure that the URL you have just ends in .png or .jpg or whatever - the URL provided will not work.

You need to use the public link, not your internal link

The public link isn't an image link, it's a link to Dropbox's image viewer. So that link is definitely not proper either.

Make yourself a public folder, right-click image in that folder, copy public link

Okay, I'll try that. Thanks.

If that doesn't work just use cubeupload, they're pretty good and don't scale images down like imgur.

I finally got around to trying it. Making a public dropbox folder worked, thanks for the help!

no drop box is a ♥♥♥♥♥ throwing a 403 error at you.
and it ifs nto trowing it at you it sure possibly in the near future will throw it at anyone else.

don't waste your tabletop simulator time with dropbox. something that works poorly is still better than something that (soon possibly) does not work at all.

Dropbox will pull links that generate too much public traffic.

Dropbox is what I use, but the links end with dl=0 by default. Relabel it to dl=1to enable downloading should fix the issue.

Indeed they actually however just close your entire account instead of pulling links however. The limit is 200'000 downloads or 20GB per day I believe. If you hit that limit they then stop your account, you can reopen the account right away the first time and it increases exponentially afterwards. So be careful how much you host on one dropbox. Personally I'm thinking about switching some of my mods over to pomf.se.
