Don't Wake Dad?
"Don't Wake Daddy is a children's board game originally published by Parker Brothers, now a subsidiary of Hasbro. It is intended for two to four players.

Players take the role of children sneaking to the refrigerator late at night, trying not to wake their sleeping father (who lies in the middle of the board on a large bed). Movement is determined by using a spinner and moving accordingly. If players make one of several "noises" (that is, if the color of a noise space does not match the color of an assigned card that they hold), they must push an alarm clock next to "Daddy" a certain number of times; after enough pushes, the clock will go off and "Daddy" will suddenly jerk upright from his bed (as if just having awakened from a nightmare), at which point the player claims the corresponding color card from a player that has it, then returns to the beginning of the board.

Parker Brothers introduced the game at the 1992 American International Toy Fair. It was picked as the sixth best toy of the year (third-best among girls) in the Duracell Kids' Choice National Toy Survey, and was one of the best-selling games of the 1992 Christmas season.Parker Brothers spokesperson Ronni Heyman described the game as "a real sleeper". The game's success was cited as a contributing factor in Hasbro's 46% increase in net income after the fourth quarter of 1992. Parker Brothers later released a smaller travel version of the game."


Don't Wake Dad (as it is known here is the UK) is a board game I've been a huge fan of for quite some time now. Many a night was spent in my household with family and friends moving cautiously around the game board, sneaking around the slumbering parent in order to reach the treasure trove of snacks in the refrigerator. Even on holidays and family outings, we would always carry the "travel" edition and not hesitate to have a quick bout of Don't Wake Dad around the dinner table, perhaps betting second helpings during turns or presenting the last slice of cake to the victor! What fun!

Don't Wake Dad holds a special place in my heart, unlike similar games that test one's resolve and daring like Pop-up Pirate or Buckaroo!, as I feel it reflects my struggle with my own father before he walked out on me and my mother, when I was 5. When playing DWD I feel as though I am almost reliving the nights spent sneaking through the living room where my inebraited dad lay sprawled on the sofa, exhausted from a night spent drinking and arguing with my mother, lest I wake him and incur his wrath. I was forced to make a game out of it, but of course, back then my ultimate reward was not a fridge stocked with goodies but a peaceful evening and my own safety.

Regardless, with myself and some of my online pals purchasing Tabletop Simulator the other day, the subject of our most desired board games came up and we all agreed that we would love to be able to play Don't Wake Dad together more than anything else. It would certainly be quite the nostalgia trip to play it again, with my new friends! I don't know how difficult it would be to translate, but if someone can recreate it in the form of a TTS save I would most appreciate it. Thank you!

If you have scans, it is easy to create games like this.
