TTS Mod Backup
I created a tool that allows to download all files of a mod (like TTS would download files if you load the mod).
It also allows to backup and restore mods with all files (it can also create selfextracting backups that extract automatically to the right location). This should help if images/models get taken down by webhosters.
Also you can clean up the locally cached files so any files that are not part of your installed mods/saves/chest items will be deleted.

Since 1.7 it also includes a JSON editor to help for example with translation of mods.

Feedback, bug reports and suggestions would be welcome!

Edit: newer versions require .NET 5 - you can get it here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/5.0 (get the .NET Desktop Runtime one)

I love this tool but I'm bummed that it's no longer working after the latest TTS update. Any word on when it will be functional again?

Windows Threat Detection reports 2.0.27 as having a trojan. It gets auto-deleted/quarantined. This was downloaded from NexusMods.

Same here. Gets detected as a virus.

Thank you for taking care of that so fast!

The tool I use to pack everything the program needs into one .exe file sometimes gets detected as malware, but I can assure you it's not, see this virustotal report showing 1 of 64 engines reporting its malware (which is obviously a false positive): https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/49e14f11cf9dd09c3d7f9e6e368d10f5e4f402c0b66b1a4e20420e131a53fabc/detection
If I find the time I will try to use another method that gets less false positives, but for now you cound just add an exception for the file/directory.

Awesome! Thanks for fixing this so quickly!.

Froghut, I have a question out of curiosity. Do you accept QoL (quality of live) request? Like.. can we request some features that would make tts mod backup alot easier to use? Since Ive got some ideas. Or is it too time consuming for you?
Froghut Jan 31, 2021 @ 7:41am
Sure, tell me your suggestions! I don't have much time for the tool at the moment, but will probably get around to it sometime.

Thanks for your reply. I think there is one single suggestion I always wanted and seeked for in your tool. I will try to describe: When you serach for Mod updates it finds updates Mods, the biggest problem is, they dont appear on top. Like.. if you have a list of 1000 Mods, it can be such a hassle to look for them 1 by 1 and to update them 1 by 1. So it could be very useful, if new subscribed mods and updated mods, when searched and found, could be displayed in a new tab for the current session. (Tabs like.. there is the Mod Tab, the Saves Tab, and maybe adding a 3rd tab with "updated/newlysubscribed Mods".) This way it would be so much easier to update newly updated/subscribed mods and it wouldnt be time consuming anymore, especially if you have lots of mods in your list. Personally, thats one of the most important features I wished for. If this is a bit hard to handle, maybe giving the ability to "sort by modified date" or something, so the updated/newly subscried mods can appear at top of the list when you sort by date.

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is you're having, so my workflow is like this: If you do "Tools -> Update installed Mods from Workshop" it will update all mods that have updates and get all newly subscribed mods. Then when you click "Download All" it will (try) to download all assets (also for the newly updated mods), and then when you hit "Backup All" you can set it to only create backups for mods with changes (i.e. the updated ones).
It would be great if you could elaborate what you would need the list of updated/newly subscribed mods for.
Sorry if this comes across as condescending, it's really not meant to, I'm just trying to understand! (English is not my first language :)
