How to reduce lag????
Hi, i have a server i host and my players are having huge lag issues and in the end just lag out.
If anyone has suggestions (except portforwarding) please help me out. And also don't just diss how bad my internet is bc its pretty good, just not on this game sadly :/.

Me and a friend have this issue, When he host i get really bad lag spikes going up to 200+ping. He is fine when i host. I know you said execpt portforawrding but that is the only thing we could think of that i have done that he did not.

If there is another solution i would also be interested so i do not always have to host.

What are the ports to forward if we were going to?

It should be what you want it to be as when you create a server you get to set the ports. I changed mine and do not recall what the default port is.

@ElementalBliss
Standard port is 11155 but you can change it in the "advanced" options during the "host server" setup if you like.

@Are Eye Pee
So i assume you already tried the port-forwarding and it didn't work out? In case you didn't: DO IT!

That is the first best choice to cut down latency.

Also if your router has some sort of QoS (quality of service)/traffic shaping you should give the TTS port priority.

Not that I could help you much if I knew what your connection is but saying "it is pretty good" is subjective and gives no information. What's the download AND ESPECIALLY the upload speed? What is the type of the connection, DSL, cable or even fiber? How far are you and your players geographically apart? What is the ping they having?
There are some physical limits electrical signals can't just overcome. For example if you join an US server from Europe you have to expect at least a ping of 200+, there is not much room for improvement technically. So we need more information to even able analyze your situation (not saying a solution is guaranteed).

quick fix - start game with .exe in steam folder, not through steam. You should no longer have lag
