Using Dropbox as server
Hi guys,
I know this seems to be no issue for most people but somehow this process does not work for me.

I am working on my own game (surprise) And since I am constantly changing different assets of the game i figured I should use Dropbox.
In that way if I have a card image that changes I just exchange the file in my Dropbox and it should be updated in all my games right? (I use different games as "Levels", in TTS)

But somehow the cards I am trying to update dont change in TTS, however they do change everywhere else, the dropbox image is replaced, the same link in my browers show the new image but no matter what I do (closing TTS, Steam.. Anything) in TTS the image remains the old one..

Am I doing something wrong? Feel like I'm going crazy haha

TTS uses an image cache. You have to disable Mod Caching in your settings, or delete those files from your cache folders, to re-download the required item.

I do not recommend DropBox for anything other than small scale testing as DropBox throttle the amount of direct downloads in a given time-frame, which will result in unreliable asset access depending on how often people are using the mod (without the files cached).

Oh my god thank you so much.. That makes complete sense!
Do you have any recommendation what server to use?

Drop box is quite handy in replacing files and also having the folder just on your PC for easy exchange..

Use the 100GB / 10,000 files supplied by Steam as part of your purchase of Tabletop Simulator.

But doesn’t that leave me with the first problem of not being able to change one file to update them in all lvls?

Correct, but your proposed solution is both unreliable and requires users to perform steps to ensure their cache is up to date.

The "best" solution for your use case is to purchase your own file host server where you can update the header and use {verifycache} in your links to achieve this effect _without_ any of the drawbacks (unless the host is limited)
